Privacy Policy
Our commitment to transparency and user privacy.
1. Privacy-First Philosophy
DownXmonitor was built with user privacy as a foundational design element. We believe that you should be able to check website status reports and monitor downtime without exposing your digital identity. We do not engage in behavioral tracking, profiling, or data commercialization.
2. What Information We Collect
Anonymous Outage Submissions: When you report a problem with a website on our dashboard, we collect the issue category (e.g. "slow loading" or "inaccessible") and your country location (determined via IP lookups). The IP address itself is parsed in real-time to locate the country code, cached briefly in-memory to prevent spam, and then immediately discarded. It is never logged in our database.
Server Logs: Standard web server requests automatically record basic routing info (such as browser User-Agent strings and timestamps) for network security and debugging. These logs contain no personally identifiable information (PII) and are purged automatically.
3. Use of Cookies and Local Storage
We do not use tracking cookies. We utilize the browser's standard LocalStorage strictly to store your interface theme preference (light mode vs. dark mode). This is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.
4. Data Sharing and Sale
We do not sell, trade, or share any user data. Because we do not collect personal information, there is no database of profiles or tracking records to monetize.
5. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated modification date.
